from Thar coal, which successfully added to the national grid.
Engro power
Jean Thar limited was established under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor
(CPEC) where it’s Thar block II started operation and produced electricity 330
mw out of 660 mw from coal.
The power
plant successfully appended with the national grid station in the presence of
senior officials and the project’s contractors of China Machinery Engineering
Limited’s officials.
The 175
billion tons of coal depots in Thar change the energy scenario of this country.
It secures and will finish the dependence of Pakistan on international fuels.
It is one of
the initial CPEC’s projects in Thar to prepare electricity from coal. The
construction of this 660-mw coal power plant project had begun in 2016.
China Machinery
Engineering Limited and HBL Engro Power Jean Limited are the main partners of
this project.
The Sindh
Engro Coal Mining Company will provide 8300-thousand-ton coal per year to Engro
Power Jean Limited to produce electricity from Thar power plant.
Both units
of 330mw will initiate the commercial operation in June 2019. Likewise, the
country could save annual depots of approximately 6.1 billion dollars from
mining as well as from power projects of Engro Limited.
The company
will use CFD to burn the coal in 660mw power plant. After commercial operations
the power plant will begin the supply to national grid situated in Mattyari
